CARTER SCHEDULE
President Jimmy Carter is scheduled to teach Sunday school on Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church, located at 148 Ga. 45 Highway N. in Plains.
The Sunday school class starts at 10 a.m. and is preceded by an orientation period at 9 a.m. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. The church building opens at 7:30 a.m. Please note Carter’s schedule is subject to change. Visit the church website at www.mbcplains.org.
SPECIAL EVENTS
A “Keeping the Dream Alive with the Lord on Our Side” service honoring the late Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. is set for 7 p.m. Saturday at the Greater Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 115 Forrest St. in Thomaville. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Gary Sanders, pastor of First Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church of Albany.
St. John Full Gospel Independent Church, 512 S. Cotton St. in Poulan, is also hosting a service with the same theme at 7 p.m. on Sunday, and will host a King March at 10:45 a.m. on Monday. The guest speaker will be Bishop Cleveland Dennison, pastor of Pentecostal Full Gospel Church of Poulan.
The Martin Luther King Mass Choir is performing at 6 p.m. on Jan. 21 at Greater Grace Church of God in Christ, 205 S. Westover Blvd. in Albany. Featuring Tiffany Boone, Cambridge A. McGill and Elijah Bell. This will following a 7:30 a.m. performance at the H.E.A.R.T./ Proctor & Gamble breakfast service.
The Faithful Servants 11th Anniversary Sing will be at 6 p.m. Jan. 26 at Victory Baptist Church, 3917 U.S. Highway 319 South in Tifton. An appreciation meal will be served in the social hall immediately following the sing. The public is invited to attend.
Willis Memorial First Born Church, 314 Bethel St. in Colquitt, is conducting its New Year’s consecration revival service at 7 p.m. nightly Jan. 28-31. Guest evangelist will be Bishop Tremaine O. Alford Sr. The theme will be “Hear God and Let God Heal Your Land.”
