CARTER SCHEDULE

President Jimmy Carter is not scheduled to teach Sunday school on Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains. Carter’s next scheduled class is May 15, but his schedule is subject to change. Church opens at 7:30 a.m. with a 9 a.m. orientation session before Carter teaches his 10 a.m. class. The church is at 148 Georgia Highway 45 North, Plains.

SPECIAL PROGRAM

Bridges of Hope, a mental illness facts and resources program for clergy and faith leaders, is 3 p.m.-5 p.m. May 17 at St. John & St. Mark Episcopal Church, 2425 Cherry Laurel Lane, Albany. CONFERENCE

Cray Chapel C.M.E. Church will host its first Blessed & Highly Favored: Women’s Conference next week. The conference opens 7 p.m. May 13 with a worship service with the Rev. Cherly Goliday, pastor of Bethel C.M.E., Cordele, as guest presenter. The conference resumes at 9 a.m. May 14 with speakers including Dr. Patrina Lockette and Minster Zelda Wright.
