MACON — Six String Southern Productions is bringing Tifton’s Kip Moore to the Grand Opera House on Friday. The event will be part of Moore’s “Room to Spare: Acoustic Tour.” Moore will be joined by a few band members as they take the audience through a tour of the artist’s musical history.

Moore’s debut album in 2012 “Up All Night” became the year’s best-selling album by a male artist. The Tifton native followed in 2015 with “Wild Ones” and in 2017 with “Slowheart.”

Moore enjoys both outdoors and alternative sports, such as rock climbing, surfing and skateboarding. In an effort to reach troubled inner-city and at risk children and teenagers, Moore started the Comeback Kid Skate Park Project. The project started as a dream to give city kids an opportunity to experience something positive and different in their lives. He named the project for an autobiographical song, “The Comeback Kid” from his album “Wild Ones.”

The project has five locations: Tifton; Nashville, Tennessee.; Annapolis, Maryland.; San Marcos, Texas; and Boston. These locations provide a safe area for kids to explore new activities.

Tony Hawk, a renowned American professional skateboarder, actor and owner of the skateboard company Birdhouse, has held demonstrations at Moore events. Hawk provided skateboard demos while Moore brought his music to the stage to raise funds for Kip’s Kids Fund.

Moore will be joined on the Grand Opera House stage in Macon by Gary Stanton and Charlie Muncaster of Muscadine Bloodline. The two Mobile, Alabama, natives grew up playing music together. They are a Southern rock-meets-country duo that has a unique sound Moore’s fans will no doubt enjoy. The duo thrives on playing music for a living and having the opportunity to meet their fans.

Country and Southern rock fans owe it to themselves to be at the Grand Opera House in Macon on Friday at 8 p.m. for an evening of rocking Southern county to remember.
