Leesburg’s Bryan wraps up second season of ‘Idol’

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Country music superstar and “American Idol” judge Luke Bryan wrapped up his second season on ABC’s “Idol” last week by performing his new single “Knockin’ Boots” and singing “Every Breath You Take” with contestant Laci Kaye Booth. Laine Hardy from Livingston, La., won the fan-voted competition.
Leading into the season’s finale, Luke was the No. 3 social talent across all television, broadcast and cable, with 3 million interactions and 539 posts from March 3 to May 12.
On Friday, Bryan will launch his “Sunset Repeat Tour” in Philadelphia at the BB&T Pavilion. Rising superstar, and a fellow southwest Georgian to the headliner, Cole Swindell and EMI/32 Bridge Entertainment recording artist Jon Langston are the special guests. The tour will run through October, and it was recently announced the schedule will include two stadiums dates: Gillette Stadium on June 21 and wrapping up the tour in Detroit at Ford Field on October 25.
Bryan is a two-time Academy of Country Music and a two-time Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year, a five-time host of the ACM Awards, a NSAI Artist/Songwriter of the Year and was named a CMT Artist of the Year six consecutive years. He has more certified digital singles than any other country artist with 46 million tracks and 12 million albums. He also has accumulated 4 billion music streams. Luke has placed 22 singles at No. 1, 12 of which he co-wrote. Last summer he opened Nashville’s only six-floor entertainment facility in the heart of Music City, LUKE’S 32 BRIDGE FOOD + DRINK.
