DOUGHERTY

April 10

Blackbeard’s, 2209 N. Slappey Blvd.

Score: 94 Grade: A

Violations: Observed fume hood needs cleaning; PIC will inform owner and have fume hood cleaned. New violation. Observed floor tile needs repairing near ware-washing and in front of fryers. PIC will have tile repaired. Repeat violation. Observed hole in wall in employee restroom. PIC will inform owner to have hole repaired. New violation. Observed coving and tile missing in areas. PIC will have missing coving and tiles replaced. New violation. Observed ceiling tiles needs cleaning due to dust build-up. PIC will have ceiling tiles cleaned. New violation.

Wendy’s No. 553, 2548 Dawson Road

Score: 89 Grade: B

Violations: Observed TCS foods that were not being maintained at 41 degrees or below for cold holding in the walk-in cooler. See temp log. PIC discarded items. Corrected on-site, repeat violation.

Remarks: Technician came to service the walk-in cooler during the inspection; discussed wiping cloths; discussed scooping utensils; discussed Dumpsters.

Wing Dixie & Deli, 244 Cordele Road, Suite 105

Score: 87 Grade: B

Violations: Observed fume hood needs to be cleaned. Discussed frequency of cleaning with PIC. New violation. Observed turkey, tomatoes and tuna being held above 41 degrees Fahrenheit. PIC discarded the items. New violation.

Remarks: Discussed reducing the amount of meat being placed in the container on the salad bar or placing the meat and tomatoes on ice.

Books A Million/Joe Muggs, 2601 Dawson Road, Unit 3

Score: 90 Grade: A

Violations: Observed no written procedure to inform employees how to respond to vomit/fecal incidents involving surfaces in the facility. Gave PIC another copy of vomit/fecal incident clean-up form. Corrected on-site, repeat violation. Observed spray bottle containing chemicals taken from the original container that was not labeled with the common name of the chemical contained within. Discussed labeling chemical bottles with PIC. New violation.

Remarks: Discussed protection of food/lip contact surfaces for single-use utensils.

April 11

Subway, 227 Walnut St., Suite A, Leesburg

Score: 96 Grade: A

Violations: Observed bag of ice stored on floor of freezer. Person in charge corrected violation by moving ice to storage shelf. Corrected on-site, new violation. Last inspection report dated Oct. 4, 2016 not posted for public view. New violation.

Subway (located in Walmart), 2825 Ledo Road, Albany

Score: 91 Grade: A

Violations: Observed deli meat, cheese held above 41 degrees F in undercounter reach-in cooler. Person in charge corrected violation by discarding items and having the unit serviced. Corrected on-site, new violation.

Remarks: Person in charge will have undercounter refrigerator serviced to maintain proper temperature of cold-held items.

WORTH

April 10

Burger King, 508 E. Franklin St.

Score: 100 Grade: A

Subway No. 13356, 630 E. Franklin St.

Score: 96 Grade: A

Violation: Observed a white slimy substance on the ice dispenser of the drink machine and some pink mold. PIC cleaned the white substance and stated that she would purchase a brush so that she could better reach the dispenser to properly clean it. Corrected on-site, new violation.

TERRELL

April 10

Sugamama’s, 855 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Dawson

Score: 96 Grade: A

Violation: Cut lettuce, cut tomatoes held longer than 24 hours with no throw-out date marked. New violation.

Remarks: Items to address before next inspection: cooling procedures, reheating procedures, mobile unit permit, vegetable prep sink requirement, residential equipment, water interruption plan.

April 13

No. 1 Chinese Restaurant, 147 N. Main St., Dawson

Score: 85 Grade: B

Violations: Food employee drank green tea from an open container while in a food preparation area. EHS instructed PIC to keep all employee beverages either in a designated area or in a disposable cup with a lid and a straw. New violation. Egg roll (78F) hot held below 135 degrees Fahrenheit. PIC discarded egg rolls. Corrected on-site, new violation. Cooked chicken (78F @ 11:45 a.m., 78F @ 12:30 p.m.; 76F @ 11:30 a.m., 76F @ 12:30 p.m.) improperly cooled. EHS instructed PIC to revise cooling procedures. Repeat violation.

Remarks: Items to address before next inspection: cross-contamination in storage (separate sauces and shell eggs), vomit policy, water interruption plan, residential equipment.

MITCHELL

April 12

Laredo Grill, 43 S. Scott St., Camilla

Score: 88 Grade: B

Violations: Observed foods cold holding at temperatures about 41 degrees F. See temp log. PIC relocated foods so that they would be able to properly cool to 41 degrees. Corrected on-site, new violation. Observed cheese dip holding at less than 135 degrees F in the crock pot. PIC turned the crock pot to a higher setting so that cheese dip could warm to 135 degrees or above. Corrected on-site, new violation. Observed a bucket of cheese dip stored on the floor of the kitchen and observed drink mixes stored on the floor in the dry storage area. New violation.

Remarks: Gave new forms of rules that became effective in 2015; discussed Pest Control and roach complaint; labeling of bulk containers; scoops with handles; proper cold holding and hot holding; more light in dry storage area. Southwind Pest and Termite out of Bainbridge comes every month to perform pest control. There was some evidence of mice and roaches, but none were observed live at the time of inspection.

April 12

Sweet Georgia Brown, 17549 N. Highland Ave., Arlington

Score: 81 Grade: B

Violations: Food employee failed to wash hands after handling raw beef steak and before handling sliced cheese. EHS instructed employee to wash hands, change gloves and discard contaminated foods. Corrected on-site, new violation. Bacon (104F) hot held below 135 degrees Fahrenheit. New violation. Previous food inspection not posted. New violation.

Remarks: Items to address before next inspection: employee drinks, cross-contamination in storage.
