Violations: Observed no CFSM for the Culinary Arts food service department. PIC will have 60 days to obtain a CFSM certificate. New violation, Correct by 11/27/2017. Observed no hand cleaning liquid, powder or bar soap at handwashing sink. PIC will place liquid soap at handwashing sink. New violation. Observed no paper towels in the women’s or men’s restrooms. PIC will place paper towels in the restrooms. New violation. Observed no lid on the trash can in the women’s restroom. PIC will have the lid replaced. New violation. Observed rodents in the dry storage area that have not been removed from the premises at a frequency that prevents their accumulation, decomposition or the attraction of pests. New violation.

Violations: Observed no paper towels at one hand-washing sink located in the back of the kitchen or in the employee bathroom. Discussed with CFSM and corrected. Corrected on-site, new violation. Observed wiping cloths used to clean countertops and other surfaces in solution containing no detectable chlorine sanitizing solution as evidenced by test strip. Discussed with CFSM and corrected by adding chlorine to equal 100 ppm as evidenced by test strip. Discussed with CSFM to routinely check wiping cloth solution to ensure proper level of sanitizer is maintained. Corrected on-site, new violation.

Observed country patty sausages stored in reach-in coolers uncovered and subject to contamination. The patties were discarded. New violation. Observed no lid on the trash can in the women’s restroom. A lid will be placed on the trashcan. New violation.

Violations: Observed the hand sink in the main kitchen was inaccessible due to items being stored in front of the sink. Discussed with PIC. PIC cleared area so that hand sink is readily available. Corrected on-site, repeat violation. Observed sweet and sour chicken in reach-in cooler located in main kitchen not properly covered. Discussed with PIC. Container covered with plastic wrap. Corrected on-site, new violation. Observed inside bottom area of freezer located in main kitchen not clean to site and touch. Discussed with PIC. PIC to defrost, clean and sanitize freezer. New violation, correct by 10/04/2017.
Little Jamaican Restaurant, 239 E. Oglethorpe Blvd.
Score: 85 Grade: B
Violations: No person in charge of establishment at time of inspection. There must be a designated PIC for establishment when CFSM is not present. New violation. Observed potentially hazardous food — white rice, white milk, ox tail and rice, and beans — above 41 degrees Fahrenheit. PIC discarded the food items. Corrected on-site, new violation. Observed Dumpster missing drain plug. PIC will contact company and have the plug replaced. Repeat violation.
Quickie Restaurant, 1906 N. Slappey Blvd.
Score: 90 Grade: A
Violations: Observed no lids on food at steam table, bottom of reach-in cooler, and food bags open in reach in freezer. PIC had employee place lids on food containers and sealed open bags of food. Corrected on-site, new violation. Observed no sanitizer in cloth solution; employee refilled sanitizer bucket. Corrected on-site, new violation. Observed interior of reach-in cooler soiled with accumulation of food residue. PIC will have cooler wiped down to remove food residue. Repeat violation. Observed exterior of fryers need cleaning; PIC will have fryers cleaned. Repeat violation. Observed floors on cook line need cleaning; PIC will have employee mop floors. New violation.

Violations: Observed no paper towels at the employees’ handwashing sink. PIC placed paper towels at the sink. Corrected on-site, new violation. Observed the fumehood with an accumulation of grease. Discussed frequency of cleaning with the PIC. New violation. Observed employees not wearing hair restraints. PIC provided employees with hats and nets. Corrected on-site, new violation.

Violations: Observed ice machine not clean to sight and touch. Discussed with CFSM. CFSM to clean and sanitize ice machine and ensure routine cleaning is maintained. New violation, correct by 09/28/2017.

Violations: Observed one waffle mix in cooler located in the middle of the kitchen not covered properly. Discussed with PIC and corrected by covering mixture with plastic wrap. Corrected on-site, new violation, correct by 09/28/2017. Observed ice machine interior not clean to sight and touch. Discussed with PIC. Cleaned and sanitized on site. PIC to clean and sanitize microwave today and ensure that it is kept clean routinely. Repeat violation, correct by 09/29/2017. Observed an employee involved in food prep that was not using a disposable or easily cleanable hair net or other hair restraint. Discussed having all food prep employees use hair restraints with PIC. Repeat violation, correct by 09/29/2017.
