VALDOSTA — Music fans: Want to see a “Juke Box Hero?” Want to play some “Head Games?”
You’ll get those opportunities and more right here in southwest Georgia Saturday at Wild Adventures Theme Park, as Foreigner will take the stage. Rock ’n’ roll legends Foreigner will not be a “Long, Long Way From Home,” settling in instead among the wild animals and thrill rides at Wild Adventures. The multiplatinum-selling classic rockers will fill the All-Star Amphitheater with hits that have been part of the fabric of people’s lives for decades.
Foreigner is an English-American rock band that came together back in 1976 in New York City. The band was formed by Mick Jones, Ian McDonald and Lou Gramm. All were veteran musical artists when they came together as Foreigner. Jones, an English native, was a former member of Spooky Tooth, while fellow Briton McDonald was a former member of King Crimson. American vocalist Gramm was a former member of the band Black Sheep. But these guys made music history as Foreigner.
Jennie Boyer, Wild Adventures’ director of entertainment, said, “Foreigner’s music is the soundtrack behind important moments in life for so many people, and we couldn’t be more excited to share that with our guests live on stage.”
Forty-plus years later, just coming off a world tour, Foreigner is presenting its “Foreigner: The Hits on Tour” show at the Valdosta theme park. It is “Urgent” that this show be experienced while making memories this weekend.
