ALBANY — The driver of a Chevy Silverado is in Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Sunday listed in critical condition after he lost control of his vehicle on the Liberty Expressway Saturday.

Albany Police Department officers responded to a serious motor vehicle accident at North Westover Boulevard and Nottingham Way after the driver of a maroon Chevy Silverado, identified by APB as Richard Brown, struck a concrete divider while traveling eastbound on the Liberty Expressway through the intersection at Nottingham Way.

Police said the vehicle left the roadway and when the driver over-corrected, the Silverado turned counterclockwise before striking a concrete divider, which resulted in the vehicle flipping.

Brown was taken to Phoebe, and an APD news release said he is in critical condition with severe head trauma.
