DID YOU KNOW?
The March full moon is known as the Worm Moon because in cold regions of the country the soil softens and worms are able to emerge, providing food for returning migratory birds. It is also known as the Sap Moon becauss it occurs when sap in maple trees begins to flow. Other nicknames are the Crow Moon, with crows cawing seen as a signal of the end of winter; the Crust Moon, because snow is getting “crusty,” and the Lenten Moon, the last full moon of winter that falls during the Christian period of Lent.
