ALBANY —Police were investigating a robbery by snatching that had taken place on North Slappey Boulevard on Monday afternoon, leading them to impound a vehicle in downtown Albany.

Officials from the Albany Police Department were at the scene when a white Chevrolet SUV was being towed away at around 3 p.m. Monday at Pine Avenue and Davis Street. Phyllis Banks, spokeswoman for the APD, described it as a possible suspect’s vehicle that police believed may have been connected to a robbery by snatching about 30 minutes earlier at 500 N. Slappey Blvd.

Banks said a black male wearing a white shirt and red shorts snatched cash that was in a money bag from the victim.

Additional details were not immediately available Monday.

ALBANY POLICE: The Albany Police Department responded to at least 48 incidents on Saturday and Sunday, available reports show. The incidents included:

— Family violence (unfounded) on the 800 block of Odom Avenue and on the 2200 block of Rosebrier Avenue;

— Theft by shoplifting on the 1000 block of North Slappey Boulevard;

— Miscellaneous property damage report on the 800 block of Cotton Avenue;

— Criminal trespass on the 1100 block of Don Cutler Sr. Drive and on the 3200 block of Fernridge Drive;

— Warrant service report on the 1300 block of East Residence Avenue and on the 800 block of Cotton Avenue;

— Recovered property on the 1600 block of Maryland Drive;

— Simple battery on the 400 block of Pinson Road;

— Burglary in the 1st degree on the 1200 block of West Lincoln Avenue;

— Unruly child on the 500 block of Pinson Road;

— Disorderly conduct on the 100 block of Marie Road and on the 1600 block of Pineview Avenue;

— Lost property report on the 1500 block of Malone Drive and on the 1300 block of Mobile Avenue;

— Theft by taking on the 500 block of Pinson Road and on the 600 block of West Mercer Avenue;

— Robbery by force on the 800 block of West Highland Avenue;

— Aggravated assault on the 3100 block of Graystone Lane and on the 2700 block of Gillionville Road;

— Burglary in the 2nd degree on the 500 block of South Slappey Boulevard;

— Entering auto on the 900 block of Crawford Drive;

— Safety belt violation on the 1500 block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard;

— Inhumane treatment of animals on the 2800 block of Old Dawson Road;

— Battery on the 1400 block of East Society Avenue.

DOUGHERTY POLICE: The Dougherty County Police Department responded to at least 40 incidents on Saturday, Sunday and into the early hours of Monday, available reports show. The incidents included:

— Auto accident at the intersection of Van Cise Lane and Winifred Road and on the 4700 block of Gillionville Road;

— Suspicious person on the 3000 block of East Park Court;

— Theft by taking on the 3300 block of Sweetbrier Road and on the 3300 block of Sylvester Road;

— Traffic stop on the 3500 block of Sylvester Road;

— Man down on the 900 block of Cordele Road;

— Assistance to other law enforcement on the 4600 block of Sylvester Road and on the 5700 block of Medley Lane;

— Traffic arrest on the 400 block of Philema Road;

— Tree blocking the road at the intersection of Eight Mile Road and Leary Road;

— Suspicious auto at the intersection of Strout Street and Pate Street;

— Lost property on the 3000 block of East Park Court;

— DUI on the 1600 block of Liberty Expressway;

— Abandoned auto at the intersection of Eight Mile Road and Leary Road;

— Loud music on the 200 block of Skywater Boulevard;

— 911 hang up on the 100 block of South Rosewood Drive;

— Personal welfare check on the 2800 block of Lindsey Avenue;

— Fraud, counterfeit money on the 2300 block of Liberty Expressway;

— Civil issue on the 3000 block of East Park Court.

ALBANY FIRE: The Albany Fire Department responded to at least 21 calls from Friday to early Monday, available reports show. The incidents included EMS assistance, shorted electrical equipment, passenger vehicle fires, scorch burns, an oil spill, building fires, motor vehicle accidents, an unauthorized burning, a downed power line and a lock in.

DOUGHERTY EMS: The Dougherty County Emergency Medical Service responded to at least 48 calls on Sunday, available reports show. There were 31 medical calls and 17 trauma calls.

The calls included two abdominal pains, one altered mental status, three assaults, two breathing problems, seven chest pains, five fall victims, eight general sicknesses, one headache, two hemorrhages or lacerations, one poisoning, one pain problem, one psychiatric problem, two seizures, two faintings, seven traffic accident victims, one unconscious individual, one man down and one other call.
