Lifeguard Certification Courses: YMCA lifeguard certification classes are conducted on a Friday-Tuesday schedule 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at Central Facility YMCA, 1701 Gillionville Road. Prerequisites: A participant must be able to swim 300 meters (freestyle and breaststroke), retrieve a 10-pound brick from the bottom of the pool, and tread water for at least two minutes.
