Former President Jimmy Carter is scheduled to teach Sunday school on Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains. The message begins at 10 a.m., but the church doors open at 8:30 a.m.

EVENTS

New Salem Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its annual Mission Day at 10:45 a.m. Sunday featuring a message from Suprina Greene of Bethlehem Schley Missionary Baptist Church in Moultrie. Unity colors are women in white and men in black and white. The church is located at 9925 Stage Coach Road, Baconton.

Lyndia Sue Wright will bring the message for the Women’s Missionary Society at Hines Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Wright, formerly of Sylvester, now lives in Byron.

First Baptist Church Putney is hosting its 52nd homecoming on May 4. Keith Travis will be the guest speaker and Made From Scratch will sing during the Sunday school hour. A covered dish dinner will follow the service.
