Former President Jimmy Carter is not scheduled to teach Sunday School this Sunday at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains. Carter’s next scheduled appearance is April 5. He also is tentatively scheduled to teach on April 12 and 19. On those dates, the lesson begins at 10 a.m. Sanctuary doors open at 8:30 a.m. and an orientation session for visitors begins at 9 a.m. Carter also plans to teach Sunday School at Maranatha on May 10 and 17.

EVENTS

Holy week services are planned Monday through Friday at Morningside United Methodist Church. The services begin at noon. Four other churches will participate with a different pastor bringing the message each day. A light lunch will be provided following the service, which is open to the public. The church is located at 121 S. Mock Road.

Greater Fellowship Christian Ministries Church and Pastor Thomas Rivers will be celebrating their third year anniversary at 2 p.m. on April 5 with Berachah Fellowship Church in Albany in charge of the program. Three nights of services are planned in connection with the celebration on April 5. Services are planned next Wednesday through Friday at 7:30 p.m. Kingdom Vision Christian Center and Pastor Apostle Earl Harrison of Leesburg will be in charge of Wednesday’s services. Mount Hope Baptist Church and Pastor David Lockett of Leesburg will be in charge of Thursday’s program. Friday will feature Zion Hope Baptist Church and Pastor William Leggett of Ashburn. Members of Albany Baptist Ministers’ Conference are planning their 2015 Pre-Easter services. Communion Services are planned at 7 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 901 Westover Blvd. The message will be delivered by the Rev. James C. Bush, pastor of pines chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Albany. The Pines Chapel Mass Choir will perform. On Friday, April 3, at 11:45 a.m., Good Friday services are planned at the same location. The message will be delivered by the Rev. Dr. Theodus Drakes of 2nd Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Albany. The Albany Baptist Ministers Conference meets at 11 a.m. each Tuesday at Cutliff Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 835 W. Broad Ave.
