Albany City Commission approves funds for fire department uniforms

ALBANY — The Albany City Commission voted to approve a bid of $62,555 for Fire Department Uniforms from North America Fire Equipment Co. of Decatur, Ala., during the city’s business meeting Tuesday night.

Other measures approved by the board include:

• Authorization for the use of GEFA Loan Funds for work on the 8th Ave. Basin, Phases 2 and 3;

• Authorization for the use of GEFA Loan and SPLOST VIII Funds for Joshua Street Overflow Bypass modifications;

• Approval of a list of alleys for paving; authorizing use of T-SPLOST II Funds;

• Authorization for the use of SPLOST VII funds for fire and security systems at Driskell Park;

• Approval for the use of SPLOST VII Funds for Engineering Services for the East Broad Avenue sidewalk project and North Washington Street extension;

• Authorization for use of SPLOST VII Funds for playground equipment at Driskell Park.

• Authorization for $202,740 in funding to purchase self-contained breathing apparatus from Fireline Inc. of Winder
