ALBANY — The Albany Police Department has issued a lookout for Demetra Denise “Dee” Butler, who is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer.
Butler is alleged to have attempted to flee a routine traffic stop conducted on the 2300 block of Tompkins Avenue on Feb 2. The officer, Brad Young with the APD, made an attempt to keep the driver’s door from closing, officials say, and again commanded Butler to stop.
Instead, police say Butler drove away at a high rate of speed. Young was struck by the driver-side mirror and knocked to the ground, APD officials say.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Demetra Denise “Dee” Butler is asked to contact the Albany Police Department at (229) 431-2100 or Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS (8477).
