ALBANY — The group with one of the biggest H.E.A.R.T.s in Albany is reaching out to youngsters again this Christmas, delivering items that are typically at the top of kids’ wish lists.

The H.E.A.R.T. (Hands Extended Across Reaching Together) Organization is donating 200 pairs of Under Armour and Adidas shoes to children in the Dougherty County School System Dec. 14-15 through its “Shoes from the HEART” initiative. Since its inception in 2009, more than 6,500 children have received a quality pair of athletic shoes.

This distribution is made a reality by contributions from Enterprise Holdings Foundation, the 2021 and 2022 MLK “Virtual” Program donors, churches, organizations, and individuals.

This year’s shoe distribution schedule includes:

Dec. 14 — Robert Harvey Elementary, 9:30 a.m.; Turner Elementary, 10:30 a.m.

Dec. 15 — Northside Elementary, 10:30 a.m.; Morningside Elementary, 1 p.m.
