ALBANY – The Albany Humane Society’s “Dog Day of Summer” fundraiser is winding down, with the organization looking to meet a $5,000 match by the end of the month.

As of Wednesday, the Humane Society was $3,600 away from the goal.

“Every year, countless animals find themselves in difficult situations: abandoned, neglected, or in need of urgent medical care,” the organization said in an email release. “At Albany Humane, we are dedicated to rescuing and providing these animals with the love, care, and medical attention they desperately need.”

For the Humane Society, $25 can provide food and supplies for an animal for a day; $50 can cover a veterinary checkup, $100 can support vaccinations and preventive care, and $250 will help with emergency medical treatment for an animal.

Dog Day ends at the end of this week.
