ALBANY — An Albany man was shot early Thursday morning when an unidentified gunman forcibly entered his home on the 1200 block of Kingstown Court, according to reports from the Albany Police Department.

Reports indicate that Marcus Crouch was shot after waking in the middle of the night to see who was knocking at his front door.

Crouch told officers that he was in bed when he heard the knocking. He said that before he could make it to the door, an unidentified person kicked in the door and started shooting.

Crouch stated that when the shots were fired, he ran back to the bedroom, jumped over the bed and advised Dishi Lashell Hall, who was also in the home, to call 911, the report said.

Crouch told officers that because the home was dark, he never had a chance to see the invader and that the gunman never said anything to him.

When speaking with officers, the report said, Hall said that she heard the gunshots and called 911 after Crouch said that he’d been shot. Hall also told officers that she believed whoever shot Crouch also broke into her vehicle and took a Panasonic car stereo valued at $90.

Crouch was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The case remained under investigation Friday.
