Albany police investigate Thursday-night shootings that leave one dead, one wounded

ALBANY – An Albany man who was fatally shot during an incident last week died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler.

Courtney Tanorris Jenkins, 45, was pronounced dead at 11:28 p.m. at the scene of the shooting in the 600 block of Bobbitt Drive, the coroner said.

Officers responded to the location at 10:45 p.m., the Albany Police Department said. Cornell Winder, 46, was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in connection with the fatal shooting. He is being held at the Dougherty County Jail.

Albany police responded to a second shooting a day later at which a victim had been shot at the Shackleford Shopping Center, police said.
