Albany police seek Dollar General robber

ALBANY — The Albany Police Department has issued an alert for a man who robbed the Dollar General Store on Dawson Road on Thursday. The suspect is described as a slender, 6 foot 1 inch dark-complected black male, who at the time of the robbery was wearing a brown coat with writing on the back.

Witnesses told police the robber entered the store at 1411 Dawson Road shortly after 6 p.m. with a handgun and demanded money from a register. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the bandit fled the scene, police officials say.
