Albany recycling center enacts material separation rule
Mixed items will no longer be accepted at the Albany recycling center at its 2521 Meredyth Drive facility. Individuals will now be required to separate items befor they will be accepted.

ALBANY – Officials with he Albany Solid Waste Recycling Center announced this week that the center will no longer accept mixed recyclable materials at its 2521 Meredyth Drive facility.
The new rule goes into effect immediately and requires that items be separated prior to drop-off.
Materials must be separated by type (glass with glass, plastics with plastics, paper with paper, etc.). The center also requires that materials be clean and free of contaminants.
If individuals arrive with containers of mixed materials, staff will direct them to leave the facility and separate them before returning.
The recycling center is open from 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday.
