Albany State Rams picked to finish last in SIAC East

ATLANTA — The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2015-2016 Men’s Basketball Preseason Player of the Year, all-conference team, and predicted order of finish Tuesday during the league’s media day in Tucker, Ga. Albany State was chosen to finish seventh in the SIAC East Division.
Albany State finished with a 9-19 record (5-13 in the SIAC) last season and lost 80-63 to Tuskegee in the first round of the SIAC Tournament. Benedict College was voted to win the SIAC East with nine first-place votes. Paine was chosen second with six first-place votes, and Morehouse received two first-place votes for third place. Claflin, Clark Atlanta and Fort Valley State also finished ahead of the Rams.
Stillman was picked first in the SIAC West Division with eight first-place votes. Lane and LeMoyne-Owen were tied for second with three first-place votes apiece, while Tuskegee was voted to finish fourth. Miles, Kentucky State, Central State and Spring Hill rounded out the rest of the west division.
