Albany Technical College inducts 20 into National Technical Honor Society

ALBANY — Albany Technical College conducted its annual fall National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) induction ceremony last week, inducting 20 students into the organization.
The Albany Tech students who were inducted include John Bolden, Summer Bullington, Trezarius Clyde, Michael Funk, Johnnie Hunter, JonKeysha Kendrick, Chelsey Mann, Cynthia McClendon, Melinda Medley, Michael Myers, Matthew Nowicki Jeremiah Paschal, Sabriyyah Pollock, Dominique Sapp, Clifford Singleton, Latia Stephens, Normal Stringer, Taylor Watson, Christopher Williams and Laquisha Williams.
The speaker for the ceremony was Ben Barrow, president and co-owner of LRA Constructors of Albany. An active part of the Albany community for over 20 years, Barrow has served on numerous boards, including the Albany YMCA, Darton State College, Dougherty County Rotary Club, Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, SunTrust Bank, Coalition for Diversity, One Albany and Boy Scouts. He has also served as a youth pastor and elder of LifeGate Church of Albany.
Students eligible for induction into the NTHS must be enrolled at Albany Tech; must have completed two consecutive quarters of coursework, a minimum of 24 credit hours; must have at least a 3.5 GPA overall, and must have made no lower than a B on any course exam.
Eligible students must also exemplify the personal qualities of an honor student: being safety conscious; working well with others; dependability; trustworthiness; responsibility; honesty; taking pride in work; exhibiting good citizenship, and making a neat and clean appearance. In addition, the student must be recommended by his/her adviser and must maintain the required grade average to remain a member of NTHS.
