Albany Technical College recognizes more than 100 students at Honors Day

ALBANY, GA — Albany Technical College held its Honors Day for fall on Tuesday in the Kirkland Conference Center. Keynote speaker for the program was Dorothy King Garner, retired dean of Albany Tech’s Health Care Technology division.
More than 100 Albany Tech students were recognized during the ceremony.
Jamie Bridges and Kayla McMillian were named as ATC Ambassadors; Zenobia Allen, Haven Perry and Kenikqua Taylor were recognized as American Criminal Justice Association officers; Isaiah Anderson, Jamaica Anderson, Keyonna Bell, Roxie Boone, Winnie Burns, Nicole Bush, Kanava Carter, Walter Clements, Angel Conner, James Coston, Steven Garner, Christopher Jenkins, Earnest McDuffie, Anita Price, Summer Roberts, William Thomas, Dewayne Threadcraft, and Ajani Young were named as Presidential Scholars; and 54 students were recognized for honors with distinction.
GED Awards were given to Lyonene Baker, Kimberly Dixon, Carolyn Folsom and William Shakleford; The ATC GOAL Student was Kristen Lord; National Technical Honor Society winners were Jamaica Anderson, Loretta Brown, Kimberly Johnson, Earnest McDuffie, James Musgrove, Matthew Newsome, Angela Palmer, Kevin Prater, Summer Roberts, Vanessa Roberts, Shaun Ryan, Julia Sims, and Barbara Spurlin; Cortrez Fraizer and Lavonia Sauls were recognized for Collegiate DECA service.
Molly Nixon-Loving and Willie Brown were recognized for Phi Beta Lambda service; Jamie Bridges, Cortrez Fraizer, Marteisha Gassaway, Kayla McMillan, Corey Mitchell, and Angela Palmer were honored for Student Government Association Service.
The Honors Day recognitions is a prelude to the college’s annual Fall Commencement exercise Thursday at 7 p.m. at Albany Civic Center.
