ALBANY — Albany and native southwest Georgia college students were recognized recently by institutions across the nation.

Georgia Southwestern — President’s List

AMERICUS — The following local residents made the summer 2024 President’s List at Georgia Southwestern State University and were among 502 students recognized for scholastic achievement. To be eligible for the President’s List, a student must earn a semester GPA of 4.0 and take a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Kennesaw State — Dean’s List

KENNESAW — Kennesaw State University recently named nearly 1,100 students to its Dean’s List in recognition of their academic achievement during the summer 2024 semester. Undergraduate students enrolled in at least nine credit hours and with a term grade-point average of at least 3.5 were named to the list. Students from the area earning Dean’s List honors are:

Kennesaw State — President’s List

KENNESAW — Kennesaw State University has named more than 1,100 students to its President’s List in recognition of their academic excellence for the summer 2024 semester. To achieve this honor, each undergraduate student must have completed at least nine credit hours with a term grade-point average of 4.0. Students from the area who earned President’s List recognition are:

University of Mississippi — Graduation

UNIVERSITY, Miss. — Joe Morgan of Albany is among the more than 900 students who graduated from the University of Mississippi in August 2024.

Morgan, who majored in Accountancy, received a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the Patterson School of Accountancy.

“Our August 2024 graduates are distinguished by incredible achievements, character and resilience,” Chancellor Glenn Boyce said. “They accomplished so much during their years at Ole Miss, and we can’t wait to see all the ways they will pursue their passions and reach their full potential on their paths to a bright future.”

Georgia State University — Dean’s List

ATLANTA — To be eligible for the Dean’s List during the summer semester, degree-seeking students with a minimum Georgia State cumulative GPA of 2.00 must earn a 3.50 GPA for the semester and complete at least 6 semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

CLEVELAND, Tenn. — Grant Webster Kendrick of Albany graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor of science degree in Cinema from Lee University during the 191st commencement exercises on July 26.

Kendrick was among more than 100 students who received undergraduate and graduate diplomas.
