ALBANY, Ga. — A 19-month-old baby was found alone locked in a pickup truck sitting in Sam’s Club parking lot after more than seven hours Friday, an Albany Police Department report stated.

The boy was in good condition but was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for observation by Dougherty County EMS, a police spokesperson said.

According to police information, the boy’s grandmother, Joyce Blakely, a Sam’s Club employee, left the boy in the pickup at 7:45 a.m. when she went to work. Concerned residents saw the boy before 3:10 p.m. and called police.

Blakely was charged with reckless conduct. She bonded out of the Dougherty County Jail. No other information was immediately available.
