Sometimes life, and the living thereof, is all about the appropriate motivation.

Just ask Josh, the newest and youngest member of our loose-knit, no-rules, one-week-every-June, mountain-stream fishing fraternity.

Josh, a former student of mine I’ve known since his earliest childhood, is now himself a school teacher, football coach, and worthy young adult. I’m pleased now to call him friend.

Understandably, when Josh joined our “organization,” he was reluctant to drop the accustomed adult/child mantle of our relationship. For two days, despite my insistence to the contrary, I was still Mr. Kornegay or Mr. Bob.
