Top 100 firm Mauldin & Jenkins appoints six new partners

ATLANTA — Leading assurance, tax and advisory firm Mauldin & Jenkins has announced the appointment of six professionals to partner, effective Sept. 1. This significant achievement highlights the firm’s commitment to recognizing excellence, leadership and dedication to client service.

“Each of these professionals has demonstrated impressive leadership within the firm and their communities,” Managing Partner Hanson Borders said in a news release. “I am confident that their expertise will continue to drive the firm’s success and uphold our tradition of delivering exceptional service and value to our clients.”

New partners are:

Mark Abernathy, CPA, is a partner in the Firm’s Athens, Ala., office. He has spent much of his 15 years of public accounting experience specializing in assurance services for companies in various industries, which primarily include state and local governments, not-for-profits, health care facilities, government and construction contracting, and employee benefit plans. Abernathy is a member of the AICPA and the ASCPA and is a current board member of CASA of North Alabama.

Stephanie Blair, CPA, CFE, is a partner in the firm’s Athens, Ala., office. She’s dedicated her career to working with individuals and closely held businesses, specializing in tax planning, compliance, and traditional assurance services. Her expertise extends to helping clients navigate the intricacies of tax regulations, ensuring they are compliant. Blair is a member of the AICPA, TSCPA, ASCPA, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and Kiwanis Club.

Lew Henry, CPA, is a partner in the firm’s Atlanta office. Since joining Mauldin & Jenkins, Henry has specialized in providing a wide range of attestation and consulting services within the not-for-profit and education practices. Additionally, he has significant experience delivering attestation services across various industries, including construction, health care, and manufacturing. He is a member of the AICPA and the GSCPA.

Sherrie Hodges, CPA, is a partner in the firm’s Huntsville, Ala., office. With more than 30 years of professional experience in public accounting, she is a key member of the Private Client Services practice. Hodges specializes in income tax planning, preparation, and consulting, providing expert advisory services that help clients navigate complex financial decisions. She is a member of the ASCPA, the AICPA and the firm’s Tax Committee.

Aubrie Trotter, CPA, is a Partner in the Firm’s Albany office. Since joining Mauldin & Jenkins, she has specialized in serving financial institution clients of all sizes across the Southeast. Trotter brings extensive expertise in conducting audits for both public and private financial institutions in addition to her work on various consulting engagements. She is a member of the AICPA, GSCPA, the Georgia Bankers Association and the Community Bankers Association of Georgia.

Brent Ullrich, CPA, is a Partner in the firm’s Atlanta office. He has more than 15 years of experience in many areas of taxation and industries ranging in size from closely held businesses to multinational publicly traded companies. Ullrich also serves as the firm’s Tax Strategy and Research leader. As such, he dedicates his time to monitoring new and pending legislation to offer technical guidance and identify planning opportunities for the firm in support of clients on complex issues across a range of technical tax areas. Ullrich is a member of the AICPA and the GSCPA.
