ALBANY – The SOWEGA Council on Aging will present a day of learning for individuals caring for people living with dementia during CareCON24, an event tailored specifically for those caregivers.
The event is scheduled for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on March 14 at the organization’s 335 W. Society Ave. Regional Resource Center.
“We are thrilled to announce that registration is now open for our caregiving conference,” SOWEGA Council on Aging Executive Director Izzie Sadler said. “CareCON24 represents an invaluable opportunity for caregivers to access essential resources, gain knowledge, and connect with others in similar situations.”
CareCON24 offers caregivers both informational sessions as well as practical tools and strategies that can be directly applied to their daily caregiving routines. Offered in collaboration with the Alzheimer’s Outreach Center and the Alzheimer’s Association, it will include a speaker, informative breakout sessions and an interactive Q&A session with a panel of experts.
“We encourage all caregivers to take advantage of this opportunity to join fellow caregivers and experts in a day of education, empowerment, and community,” added Nancy Goode, executive director of the Alzheimer’s Outreach Center.
Registration for CareCON24 is available online at Sowegacoa.org. The registration fee is $25 per person, which includes breakfast and lunch. Due to venue capacity constraints, registration is limited to 150 participants.
