ATLANTA – Charlene Phipps of Albany has won $1.7 million in an instant game by the Georgia Lottery.

“I got my husband and asked, ‘Is this real?’” the 30-year-old Phipps told lottery officials. “It’s been crazy ever since.”

Lottery officials said Phipps won the $1.7 million top prize playing a new instant game called Lady Luck 7. The ticket was sold at Sunrise Grocery, 1608 W. Broad Ave., Albany, and Phipps scratched the ticket at home.

She claimed the prize Monday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Columbus.

Phipps told lottery officials she has no plans for her windfall.

“I want to sit down and take it in,” she shared.
