Looking to get out of the house this weekend? Here are six events happening in the area close to home or a short drive away:

— Charlie Wilson concert with Salt-N-Pepa, Lenny Williams and comedian MC Lightfoot: Friday, 8 p.m. at the Albany Civic Center.

— Artesian City Car Club’s Open Car, Truck and Street Rod Show: Saturday, 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Albany Mall. Music and vendors will be on hand for the show.

— Albany State University Homecoming Parade: Saturday, 9-11 a.m. on Pine Avenue in downtown Albany.

— Rhythm & Ribs BBQ Festival: Saturday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. at Fulwood Park downtown. Music all day, food vendors, kids activities, barbecue cooking competitions.

— Albany State University Homecoming Step Show and Concert: Saturday, 6-10 p.m. at the HPER Complex on Albany State’s West Campus.

— Spooktacular Market: The Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau is teaming up with the Broken Heart Bakery for a first-ever Halloween festival and market Saturday from 3:30-8:30 p.m. at the 320 W. Broad Ave. bakery location. The event will feature costume contests, vendors, a DJ and more.
