Christmas robbery at Albany hotel

ALBANY — The Albany Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at the Country Hearth Inn, 2719 Pointe North Blvd. on early Christmas day, officials say.

The victim, Walter McClelland, told officers that while staying at the hotel with friends, he heard a knock at the door shortly before 5 a.m., officials say. According to McClelland, a friend answered the door and three unknown white males forced their way inside and attacked McClelland.

The victim said one of intruders then stuck him over the head with an unknown object, officials say, before the three attackers fled the scene with a laptop computer and $150 in cash.

Officials say the incident remains under investigation.
