City of Albany announced holiday garbage pickup schedule

ALBANY — The city of Albany has released its plan for garbage pickup during the week of Thanksgiving.

Garbage will be picked up according to regular schedule Monday-Wednesday. There will be no garbage pickup on Thanksgiving Day, and Thursday pickup will move to Friday. Friday’s scheduled pickup will be carries out on Saturday.

The city also announced the recycling schedule at its Meredyth Drive and Albany Civic Center sites for the holiday week.

Monday-Wednesday, the recycling centers will be open 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Both centers will be closed on Thursday; they will re-open 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday.
