City of Albany apprentice lineman dies in accident

ALBANY – City of Albany officials announced Thursday the passing of 20-year-old Caiden Gibson, an apprentice lineman, who died following an on-the-job accident.

Gibson was a father and was engaged to be married. A release by the city said officials with the city are providing support to Gibson’s family.

Gibson began his career with the city’s Utility Operations Department in September of 2024.

City officials are investigating the accident and are ensuring that support resources are available to all staff members and their families during this difficult time.
