ATHENS — After wrapping up the first week of fall semester classes, the Georgia football team held a two-hour practice in full pads Friday as the Bulldogs continue to close in on the season opener against Boise State on Sept. 3.

It marked Georgia’s return to the Woodruff Practice fields for the first time since Monday after Wednesday’s scrimmage and a special teams practice on Thursday — both of which were held at Sanford Stadium.

“It was a pretty good practice,” offensive coordinator Mike Bobo said. “The guys came out and responded well. It was a little difficult (Friday) with third-and-long situations, but we did a good job picking up the blitzes and converting a higher percentage than we usually do.”

Bobo had particular praise for the Bulldog receiving corps. Despite losing last year’s top two statistical leaders, Bobo said he has been pleased with that unit during preseason practice.
