ALBANY — A battle of musical proportions is on this week as Darton College hosts its Foodstock Battle of the Bands Thursday.
The event is scheduled for 5 p.m.-11 p.m. at Darton’s tennis-court pavilion.
Admission is monetary and nonperishable food donations presented to vote for audience members’ favorite band.
“At the end of the night, the band with the most donations will win $300 and the Battle of the bands,” Darton representative Lisa Burton stated in a news release. “This is an opportunity for Darton students and the community to come together and have a good time for a worthy cause.”
The donations will be contributed to Food Bank of Southwest Georgia, Salvation Army, Albany Rescue Mission, Faith Community Outreach, First Baptist Church Soup Kitchen, First United Methodist Church Soup Kitchen and St. Clare’s Soup Kitchen.
Competing bands will include the Chosen, Evan Barber and the Bellamy Peach, Everrising, Thick Ankel Nancy and Unbroken.
