Darton golfers lead afre round one in Valdosta

Valdosta — Darton’s golfers took the lead after the first day of the Thomas University Invitational with a team total of 301.

Dartons’ Taylor Welborn and Shad Tuten were also tied for the individual lead at 72.

Darton’s Joe Sakulpolphai came in at 75 and Darton’d Austin McNiell shot an 82. Darton’s Jared Wagenaar shot an 85.

Southeastern and Webber were second at 302, and Coastal Georgia came in at 309. ABAC shot a 317.

“It was really windy out there today,” Darton coach Dale Dover said. “It’s nice to have the lead.”
