DAWSON — Albany Area Primary Health Care will host a grand opening celebration for its new Dawson Medical Center on Wednesday. The event will start at 9:30 a.m. at the medical center’s 505 Forrester Drive SE location.

During the grand opening celebration, Albany Area Primary Health Care will offer a short presentation, hold a ribbon-cutting, host tours of the facility and provide light refreshments.

Dawson Medical Center is a newly constructed medical facility in Dawson that provides primary care, internal medicine, pediatrics, dentistry, podiatry, behavioral health, and a vision center all under one roof.

“We are excited to officially celebrate the opening of this new location,” Shelley Spires, the Albany Area Primary Health Care chief executive officer, said in a news release. “We have expanded patient services so community members always have access to trusted health care providers right here at home. We also have new providers joining us — including dentists, optometrists and behavioral health specialists — so we’re welcoming highly-trained, highly-skilled providers to our Dawson community.

“So many of our patients’ medical needs are met under one convenient roof with this new office. We’ve had such a positive response from patients and our community members about this expansive space and the new services offered to them. We’ve made sure to upgrade everything to best serve our patients and what they truly want in a doctor’s office.”

AAPHC has been in the Dawson community for several years.

“Our original location was a small office located on Johnson Street, but over the years we outgrew that space,” Spires said. “With this expansion, and all the services offered in one location, we’ll be here to care for our Dawson community for years into the future.”

The public is invited to take part in this major expansion of health care in Dawson and step behind the scenes to see the new office and all the services now provided to patients at the medical center.
