VALDOSTA — The Deerfield-Windsor School Literary Team won the GISA AAA State Literary Championship at Valdosta State University on Thursday.

“This performance is a tribute to the many faculty who helped to prepare these students and to the hard work of the team members and their coaches,” said Deerfield Headmaster Dave Davies. “To finish first out of 20 one schools in the state is a real honor.”

Champions included Lacey Coleman, humorous oral interpretation; Helena Augenstein, spelling; Taylor Richter, Hadden Kelley, Reed Reynolds, and Ryan Williams, men’s quartet; and Steven Feng, piano solo.

Larkin Carden was runner-up in dramatic oral interpretation; Hadden Kelley and Emma Goldsmith placed third in duo oral interpretation; and Taylor Richter was fourth in men’s solo.
