ALBANY – The Dougherty County Board of Commissioners will host a groundbreaking ceremony for The Community Center at Putney Park building project, a significant milestone in District 6. The event will take place at 2 p.m. Monday at 1108 Antioch Road in Putney.
“This project represents a major investment in our community,” District 6 Commissioner Anthony Jones, who championed the park, said. “We’re proud to begin building a facility that will provide lasting benefits for families, neighbors and future generations.”
Congressman Sanford Bishop is expected to deliver remarks during the groundbreaking ceremony, underscoring the importance of federal and local partnerships in supporting community development initiatives.
The groundbreaking marks the official start of construction on a modern community building designed to support recreation, educational programming and neighborhood engagement for residents of Putney and the surrounding area.
