ALBANY — Dougherty County Economic Development Commission President and CEO Jana Dyke brought some good news on Monday during her quarterly report to the Dougherty County Commission.
Dyke touted the recent announcements of the location of Diamond Door Products and GRUDEM expansions that will bring production operations to the county.
Diamond Door Products, a Texas commercial and industrial steel manufacturer, and GRUDEM, a TIER1 and TIER2 OEM supplier, both specialize in honeycomb material primarily used in the automotive industry. Each will will bring investments of more than $5 million.
“We are excited they chose our location because they said they are comfortable (that) they will be located where they need to be,” Dyke said of Diamond. “They are bringing over 10 employees initially and will be looking to grow.
“Their location (was) being utilized by Outdoor Network. We are proud to say these facilities were filled in less than two weeks.”
The new location is expected to be fully operational in 2024.
Another project the EDC is working on is to keep a movie production slated for Albany on track to remain here.
The EDC is also working with state legislators by giving input into the redrafting of tax credits aimed at enticing industries to locate in the state.
“They just want to evaluate the effectiveness of the tax credits,” she said.
