The Dougherty County Police Department responded at 10:48 p.m. to the 900 block of Holly Drive to a report of a car hitting a tree.

There, officers found a 2009 Nissan Altima that was heavily damaged with Emonica Shantel Dawson, 37, unresponsive in the front seat. Dawson was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Officers found evidence that the driver, Jartavious Bernard Frazier, 37, was impaired, police said.
