Albany, GA. – An Albany realty company has sustained several thousands of dollars worth of damage after a fire broke out at their Third Avenue location Sunday night.

Fire officials say that preliminary indications are that the fire at Elite Realty of Georgia, Inc., at 1009 West Third Avenue was accidental.

“Everything points towards an office area where there were computers so, preliminarily, it’s pointing towards an electrical short,” Albany Fire Chief James Carswell says.

Arson investigator Sam Harris will take a look at the scene later today out of what Carswell says is an abundance of caution but there is nothing at this time that suggests the fire was intentionally set.
