ALBANY — Officials with FLEX ABY, the premier youth entrepreneurship competition in Albany, have announced the finalists who will compete in the upcoming finale on March 22. FLEX ABY aims to ignite innovation and empower young entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into successful businesses.

FLEX ABY is a partnership between the Albany Area Chamber Foundation, the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission and the Commodore Conyers College and Career Academy, and is part of the statewide FLEX program. Locally, this collaborative effort brings together the resources and expertise of these organizations to support and mentor aspiring young entrepreneurs in the community.

After rigorous rounds of competition, three outstanding finalists have emerged, showcasing their entrepreneurial talents:

• Janessa Robinson and Samantha Aberdeen – SJ Apparel

• Michael Anderson – Mike’s Saxes

• Tabarri Mathis – Malik’s Perfect Stitch

These aspiring entrepreneurs have demonstrated exceptional creativity, dedication and business acumen in developing their ventures. Janessa Robinson and Samantha Aberdeen specialize in custom jewelry and T-shirts, while Michael Anderson of Mike’s Saxes offers the unique services of an experienced saxophone player to jazz up events. Tabarri Mathis’ Malik’s Perfect Stitch impresses with custom tailoring services.

These finalists now have the opportunity to further refine their businesses and compete in the FLEX ABY finale on March 22. The competition promises to be an exciting event, where the finalists will vie for prize money and the chance to represent Albany in the state finals on April 12 in Fitzgerald.

“We are incredibly proud of the dedication and innovation demonstrated by our FLEX ABY finalists,” representatives of the partnership said. “These young entrepreneurs represent the future of business in our community, and we are excited to support them as they continue to pursue their dreams.”

The FLEX ABY finale will be a celebration of entrepreneurship and ingenuity, bringing together the community to witness the next generation of business leaders in action.
