Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice hosting Albany career fair
Staff Reports
ALBANY — Georgia Juvenile Justice Commissioner Avery D. Niles has assigned teams of Department of Juvenile Justice recruiters to search for qualified candidates for juvenile corrections officer positions during two upcoming DJJ job fairs on Thursday, including one at Albany Technical College.
DJJ officials said “mature-minded” applicants are needed for full-time juvenile corrections careers requiring professional attitudes and performance. The agency said it has immediate openings for those wanting to help Georgia’s young offenders make successful re-entries from juvenile custody.
The Albany fair is set at the Kirkland Conference Center at 1704. S. Slappey Blvd. from 9 a.m.-noon. There is no charge for participation at the fair.
DJJ recruiters are authorized to interview qualified juvenile corrections officer candidates on-site. Applicants should come dressed for job interviews and bring resumes. All job seekers can click on www.djjcareers.org for more information about career opportunities in juvenile corrections.
In order to progress smoothly through the interview process, candidates should bring copies of the following:

— Social Security card;
— Birth certificate;
— High school diploma or GED;
— DD-214 long form with discharge indicated;
— Naturalization forms, if not a U.S. citizen;
