GraceWay hosting Giddy Up event Saturday

LEESBURG — GraceWay Recovery Residence will hosts its annual “Giddy Up For Recovery” Trail ride, Hayride and Silent Auction Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. at the Quail Crossing Stables in Leesburg.

The event’s Silent Auction has numerous items including a dove hunt in Argentina for five hunters. The public is invited to come make bids on all of the items donated by local businesses and individuals.

The public is invited to trailer their own horses to ride the Walden Farm’s trails pending proof of a negative Coggins report and a $25 donation per rider. Trail riders registration opens at 8:15 for a 9 a.m. ride-out. Another trail ride departs at 1 p.m. after lunch.

Numerous activities are planned at the farm including Farmer Larry’s hay ride at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Old-fashioned apple bobs, corn hole tournaments and and Rental Depot games will entertain the little cowpokes.

Lunch and dessert will be served near the barns under the canopy of oaks for all paid participants.

Parents and bidders may bring their cameras for photo opportunities and their wallets for a 12:30 p.m. silent auction and Buckets of Fun raffle. The Bread House & Granary goodie basket, a photography package, handcrafted wood furniture, veterinary practice gift certificates, horse supplies, original artwork, a Mars candy bucket and custom accessories from premier local designers are just a few of the auction offerings.
