HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Tyree Crump helps Bainbridge top Westover

BAINBRIDGE — In a preview of two teams which could be playing for the Region 1-AAAA title later this season, Bainbridge High outslugged Westover 72-63 Friday night.

The game featured two of the Albany Herald Super 6 players — Bainbridge’s Tyree Crump and Westover’s Jordan Floyd — on the same court. Crump finished on the winning side, finishing with a game-high 32 points to lead the Bearcats. He was joined by teammates Trevon Shaw and Malik Middleton, who finished with 14 and 12 points respectively to help Bainbridge improve to 4-1 on the season.

Floyd finished with 14, but it was Andre Kennedy who led the Patriots. Kennedy finished with 18 points, while Josh Moore also finished with 14.

RANDOLPH-CLAY 97, MITCHELL COUNTY 63: Randolph-Clay stayed undefeated on the season at 6-0, pounding Mitchell County. The victory sets up an early season Region 1-A game tonight as the unbeaten Red Devils will play at Calhoun County.

Keyshawn Baker led the Red Devils with 24 points, Cody Brown added 20, while Nigel Mitchell and Trajan Evans finished with 10 points each.

Mitchell County was led by Disarrius Robinson’s 13 points. Anthony McIntyre and Kentarius Wallace finished with 11 points each.

AMERICUS-SUMTER BOYS 62, MONROE 61: Americus-Sumter rebounded from its loss to Dougherty Tuesday night with a victory over visiting Monroe. DJ Harris led the Panthers with 20 points, while Adam King finished with 12.

SEMINOLE COUNTY BOYS 66, BROOKS COUNTY 27: Jahmyka Pearson finished with a game-high 18 points to lead Seminole County to a big victory over Brooks County. Anfernee King finished with 17, while Jordan Harris added 10 points as the Indians improved to 3-1 overall, 1-0 in Region 1-AA play.

EARLY COUNTY BOYS 79, WORTH COUNTY 78: Early County topped Worth County in a nonregion thriller. Tracy Beacham led the Bearcats with 16 points, while Qubilah Hall and Malik Thornton added 13 points each and Devonte George finished with 11 to lead the Bobcats.

Herald Super 6er Anfernee McLemore led Worth County with 31 points, while Brandon Moore finished with 16. Jamon Moore added 12.

SHERWOOD CHRISTIAN BOYS 61, FULLINGTON ACADEMY 55: Greg Elder led Sherwood Christian with 14 points in a road victory at Fullington Academy. Juwan Henderson added 12 points, while Seth King tossed in 11 points for the Eagles.

WESTOVER GIRLS 52, BAINBRIDGE 45: Herald Super 6er AuBre’ Ana Moore finished with 14 points and Kristavia Milton added 10 as the visiting Lady Patriots topped Bainbridge.

Patra Parris led the Lady Bearcats with nine points, while Nadia Mitchell added eight points.

MITCHELL COUNTY GIRLS 50, RANDOLPH-CLAY 44: In a rematch of last year’s Class A public school state championship game, Mitchell County exacted its revenge on the Lady Red Devils. In a balanced effort, the Lady Eagles were led by nine points from Antonia Jones, while Jocilin Moore and Myia Barnes finished with eight points each.

Kobi Thornton led Randolph-Clay, who lost its first game of the season, with 21 points. Shaaliyah Lewis finished with 14.

PELHAM GIRLS 81, THOMASVILLE 46: The Pelham girls continued to roll, pounding Thomasville on the road. The Lady Hornets used 34 points and 16 points from Arkansas signee Briunna Freeman to improve to 5-0 on the season, 1-0 in Region 1-AA play.

Quadranique Franklin added 11 points, Destiny Thomas added nine and McKenzie Smith and Mahogany Randall finished with eight points apiece.

WESTWOOD GIRLS 48, CRISP ACADEMY 35: Westwood topped Crisp Academy for the second time in as many weeks, going on the road to win. The Lady Wildcats (7-0) were led by Morgan Singleton’s 20 points. Gracie Pollack added 10, while Callie Smith finished with nine to lead Westwood.

Crisp Academy was led by Sidney Folsom and Claire McGarr, who both finished with 12 points.

FULLINGTON ACADEMY GIRLS 48, SHERWOOD CHRISTIAN 45: Madison Walker led Sherwood Christian with 27 points in a losing effort against Fullington. Michaela Hudson added 10 for the Lady Eagles, who will play at Lakeside (Ala.) of Eufaula on Tuesday.
