ALBANY — The Albany Police Department is currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred Saturday evening at an East Albany mobile home park.

APD spokesperson Phyllis Banks said Monday that investigators are searching for a group of suspects who robbed a group of Hispanic men at gunpoint.

According to police reports, a group of six Hispanic males were standing in Lot 27 in the Dunes Mobile Home Park on Dunes Avenue Saturday around 10:30 p.m. when a group of five black males approached them.

“The suspects are described as wearing all black clothing and they approached the victims and demanded money from them,” said Banks.

Police reports indicate that two of the bandits were carrying handguns and struck three of the Hispanic males with them.

“They (the bandits) were able to make off with an undetermined amount of money and the three victims that were struck with the weapons were treated by medical personnel at the scene,” said Banks.

According to police, no shots were fired during the incident and no arrests have been made yet.

Anyone with any information regarding the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (229) 436-TIPS.
