Hodges endorses Darrisaw for State Court

ALBANY, Ga. — Former Dougherty County District Attorney Ken Hodges on Monday endorsed Magistrate Judge Victoria Darrisaw in her bid to become State Court judge.
Darrisaw is pitted against Albany attorney Chris Warren for the seat being vacated by outgoing State Court Judge John Salter. The race will be decided in the July 31 Democratic primary.
“She (Darrisaw) and I worked together in the district attorney’s office for eight years,” said Hodges.”She has been serving the people since. She has been a judge for the last three years and I am proud to support Victoria Darrisaw as Dougherty County’s next State Court judge.
“I’ve been watching her grow for a number of years and she will continue to grow if elected. I hope the people of Dougherty County will vote for her.”
A native of South Carolina, Darrisaw is a graduate of Spelman College and Mercer Law School. She was appointed magistrate by Salter in 2009.
“This endorsement means a lot to me,” Darrisaw said. “I want to continue to serve as a public servant and let the people know the court system is there for them.”
Before her appointment as magistrate judge, Darrisaw worked as an assistant DA in the Dougherty and South Georgia judical circuits. She began her legal career as clerk for Judge Louis Sands and Judge Tommy Wilcox.
Darrisaw’s opponent, Warren, is a Howard University and Emory Law School graduate and is currently an attorney with the Ken Nugent law firm.
