Roy Wetherington
Fringe Benefits for senators and representatives:
1 — Tax deduction to maintain two residences;
2 — Travel allowances for trips between home states and Washington;
3 — Pay small fund for life and health insurance;
4 — Pay small funds for an excellent retirement;
5 — Free postage;
6 — Receives funds to pay for staff workers;
7 — Free printing and distribution of speeches and newsletters.
The total amount of fringe benefits is $250,000.
Congress passes the laws that provides for the fringe benefits and demonstrates clearly that the partisan Democrats and Republicans work together to pass laws to benefit only senators and representatives.
